JOYCE’S STORY

Joyce (on the left) has some medical issues and actually wears a pacemaker. Joyce brought her friend to a WalkActive Retreat who struggled to keep up with her! FROM INJURED TO ACTIVE

“My WalkActive journey began following a debilitating back injury. I saw two Consultants, who both recommended surgery. Whilst investigating alternative options I saw a WalkActive article in a newspaper. Having used the Joanna Hall book and DVD, I decided to attend a WalkActive workshop and was amazed by the results. I was so impressed with the outcome, improvement in my mobility and reduction in pain, that I went on and trained to become a WalkActive coach.

My desire to discover a more natural remedy rather than a surgical solution is now being satisfied through the application of WalkActive technique. I’m now fully active and able to embrace my love of cycling, racquet sports and sailing. I’m once again living life to the full, whilst avoiding the need to have surgery.”

NO MORE WEIGHTS

Liz started WalkActive because of a condition with a winged scapula and shoulder. On a practitioner’s advice, she began doing walks around her local park with weights. However walking with weights just made Liz feel really silly.  Liz decided to learn the WalkActive technique with a local trainer. Liz now feels empowered by WalkActive, as it’s one of the few forms of exercise that she can do it on her own. Her friends have commented on how great she is looking and she feels it has decreased her stress levels.

THE EX-RUGBY PLAYER

At the age of 15, Simon had his hip smashed playing rugby and continued to add to his list of serious rugby injuries over the years. At a later age, Simon realised he was experiencing upper spine and shoulder issues as a result of the old lower injuries.

WalkActive has helped Simon find a way of enjoying exercise in a less harmful way to his joints. He is now much more active and has been able to decrease joint pain significantly.
